Application Process
Evaluation Lesson
A 1/2 hour private lesson with an Academy staff member to evaluate your game and which Academy level is appropriate. The cost of the evaluation lesson is $25.00.

After Your Evaluation
Our staff member will tell you which level your child qualifies for and what day and time the group meets. He will give you our current Windward Tennis Academy Program and registration form.

General
• A flat tuition rate has been set so that your fees will be the same each month. However, some months will have more academy days than others, but it will average out over the 10 month period. Please keep this in mind when requesting credits or being out for an entire month. You will still be invoiced for the full month and only be credited back for the actual number of academy days missed in a given month (not the entire month’s tuition).
• Six inclement weather days that you are not being charged for have been factored in for all academy levels. In addition, makeup days have been scheduled for the last week in May for all the academy levels. We have also added 1 rain make-up day in the fall and the spring for all academy levels if necessary. This day will be posted on our website.
• Two indoor sessions (one in the fall and one in the winter) will be held on a rainy day of each semester for Academy, Advanced, and Select groups only. Begin checking the website in October for the fall and March for the spring to determine when these indoor sessions will be held.
• If you withdraw and then re-enroll, a $90 re-enrollment fee will apply.

Payment
• All Windward Academy players are required to have a credit card on file with the club. You may still pay by check, but in order to participate in the program you must provide a credit card number on the Preferred Payment Method Form.
• You will receive an e-mail statement the first week of the month itemizing your charges at the club including your Academy tuition for the current month. If you wish to pay your monthly account balance by check, your check must be received by the 15th of each month. On the first business day after the 15th, all unpaid account balances will be charged to the credit card on file.
• August tuition and non-refundable registration fee are payable upon enrollment.

Make-ups/Credits
• There will be no credits, reduced tuition fees, or make-ups for occasional days missed regardless of the reason. Credits will only be granted for prolonged illness or injury (defined as 3 consecutive academy days missed), southern or national tournaments, high school tryouts and high school matches. A CREDIT REQUEST FORM must be filled out and turned in within 30 days of your return for credits to be issued. This form is available at the Windward Lake Club clubhouse or on our website, www.windwardtennisacademy.com.
• Due to the large number of players in the program, make-ups or requests to come on another day for any reason cannot be honored.

Rainouts and Rain Make-ups
• CHECK OUR WEBSITE, WWW.WINDWARDTENNISACADEMY.COM, FOR RAINOUT INFORMATION. IF ACADEMY IS CANCELLED IT WILL BE POSTED 30 MINUTES PRIOR TO START TIME.
• Six inclement weather days have been built into the schedule for the year.
• There are mandatory scheduled rain make-up days this year. See the May dates listed on front page. We will add one rain make-up in the fall and one in the spring if necessary. This date will be determined and then posted on our website.
• At the end of May, the number of inclement weather or cancelled Academy days will be evaluated, and if any rain days are owed to you after the built-in rain days and scheduled rain make-ups, then your account will be credited in early June.

One Day Option
• Academy participants may opt to attend 1 day per week if space is available.
• Player must pick one day and may only come on that day (i.e. those selecting Tuesdays only, may not come on Thursday if they miss a Tuesday).
• A $25 administration fee will be charged if players switch between days each month. (i.e. You chose Tuesdays for September but switch to Thursdays for October then switch back to Tuesdays in December, then a $25 fee will be charged to your account for each time you switch.)
• Two day players will have priority over one day players for placement in the different academy levels.
• Players may return to 2 day if space is available.

Withdrawal from the Program
• A Windward Academy Withdrawal Form must be completed and submitted by the 20th of the prior month to ensure that you are not charged for the next month. Withdrawal forms can be found on the website.
• Anyone withdrawing from the program will forfeit any potential rain day credits. Exception: High school players who can’t attend Sundays only during February, March, and April, but come back in May will be eligible for rain credits.
• A $90 re-enrollment fee will apply if you decide to re-enroll in the program at a later date.

High School Tennis Policy
• Credits will be issued for high school tryouts only if a CREDIT REQUEST FORM is turned in. This form is available at the clubhouse and on our website.
• Anyone participating on a high school team, regardless of the Academy program he/she is in, will be moved to one of the high school programs for the months of February, March and April. The High School Academy program for these 3 months will be meeting on Tuesdays & Sundays. You may choose to attend both days or Sundays only (Tuesdays only is not an option).
• The above bullet does not apply to Elite Academy participants. High School Players in Elite should see the Elite section for policy during high school tennis season.
